Artefora Residency is an artist residency program that takes place throughout the year across the various spaces managed by Artefora – Center for Contemporary Art, nestled among the hills of the Langhe and Monferrato regions in northern Italy. This territory, renowned for its long-standing winemaking tradition, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The program offers artists a dedicated space for research and production, fostering international exchange and new ways of engaging with the territory through artistic practice in residence.
The residencies are designed to provide a stimulating and contemplative environment, where artists can focus on their projects while developing a direct dialogue with the surrounding nature and landscape, away from the rhythms of everyday life and the pressures of large cities. Each artist is provided with fully equipped workspaces, accommodation, and curatorial and professional support, encouraging the growth of artistic research and connections with the contemporary art system in Italy and internationally.
An open call is currently open for artist selection. Priority will be given to project proposals aligned with the values of the program and oriented toward engagement with the territory and local communities, through practices of research, exchange, and participation.
